DESIGNED WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY IN MIND
The overall design delivers a series of gardens linked by pathways that allow visitors to explore different landscapes representing the varied terrain found across the UAE. The space is organised into zones, which are designed around landscape type, including an oasis, agricultural plot, wadi and dunes.
The Promenade and the park’s Main Entrance form the two primary axes that organise the park’s overall design form. The inspiration for the Promenade is from the olden falaj irrigation system. All of the colorful and beautiful plants were inspired by the local landscape pallet.
The park design also considers the necessities of programming for different age groups. We recognise that the park has to offer all people something positive to do, while visiting the park with their families or friends.
The entire park occupies 14.5 hectares of land. The master plan design is inspired by the five key elements of Islamic design:
- QUADRIPARTITE PATTERN
- SHADE AND PAVILIONS
The design of the park’s gardens is inspired by Islamic gardens’ symmetry; the main axis are dissected into smaller and bigger ones, as they spread across the different park sections. The gardens provide a unique opportunity to cultivate diverse plant collections for the purposes of research, conservation, display and education.
